Visited our fam in LaPlace for a bit, ate some jambalaya, then checked out my uncle’s church nearby.

A little history about this church- I was told that this actual building was the first black church structure in Louisiana history, built sometime around the early 1900’s. Blacks and whites weren’t even allowed to worship together- how wack was that? Later in the evening we headed down to Bourbon Street, where cousin Steve said the hand grenade drinks would have us buzzed….

We finished the night off with a quick stop Club NV to say peace to DJ Raj Smoove. The clubs here are definitely different than LA City…….thanks New Orleans!

We were excited to meet the man who is one half of the supergroup that is UGK (Pimp C is still alive, ha!). The show at the House of Blues was dope as usual and getting to know Bun was the highlight of the night. Topics of our conversation ranged from “who’s your top 5?”, to “I cant believe we gave you guys Ariza!!”.

You might remember this city as being made famous when David Koresh and the Branch Dravidians waged a small war with the FBI, ATF, and local police. We were in Austin for SXSW in March but were so busy that we didn’t get a chance to chill. Things were different this time around. We rocked the legendary Stubb’s stage and got an incredible reaction. The SXSW showcases were cool and all but this show had so much energy!

We linked up with John Vice, Eazy, and DJ Mike Swing after the show and hit up Gruv nightclub. The club owner hooked us up with a free bottle and before you knew the party was poppin. 30 minutes later Asher Roth, his manager Jason, and DJ Wreckineyez walked in the club and shut it down. What a night that turned out to be………..

We stayed in over in Midland-Odessa (Think the movie Friday Night Lights) and hit Dallas the next day.

It took the crowd a few songs to warm up but after that it was on!

Arizona is not only HOT, but a different kind of heat. Driving through the desert is already boring, but sweating when the air conditioning is on full blast is a different ballgame! At least the mother-ship only has two windows to let the sun in.
One way or another, we made it to Phoenix, waited, and rocked. It was easily one of the best crowds yet along the tour. Phoenix is always a good time, and a good crowd, and every time we leave we all agree that we cant wait to come back.

The next day we stopped by High Point for some gear (thanks Slim!), grabbed some lunch, and hit the road for that 16 hour drive to Dallas. Gotta love the road yall!
